I wish to remind you all that there is a DMZ in which we can all share our frustrations and opinions, I motion that sensitive subjects (excluding car related ones) be moved to such location. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

It has become clear as of late that what is needed is a neutral space that has no allegiances or ties. A place that has nothing to lose if somebody speaks their mind or voices an unpopular opinion or an opinion that is not allowed elsewhere. The Cigar Lounge is just that place.

I want to start posting there but from what I can tell Clay's post there is part of why he was banned. Overall I don't care if I can't speak here ever again but I don't like the idea of being cut off mid conversation and being left to look like a giant dick and not allowed to explain myself or apologize (not referring to Clay, just in general.)

I'll diplomatically handle this. Because it's basically already covered in the handbook:

Personal attacks, call to arm posts, asking who the most reviled commenter or community here is, essentially any commenting behavior which specifically negatively attacks another commenter, area or member of staff with the intent to cause disruption or general harm to a specific commenter or to the community at large is verboten. You will be warned, suspended or banned depending on the severity of the issue and other criteria..."

To Summarize: If you violate the rules above, in regard to direct personal attacks against another opponaut in a public space (or I suppose acts of gross racism or sexism which are simply egregious in the eyes of the general community) and / or offensive material that is directly brought back, or directly linked to Oppo, we'll enforce these policies.

Otherwise, what happens in Vegas The Cigar Lounge, stays in The Cigar Lounge.

I'm also not sure, all I know is that clay got banned and from what I gathered it was a sensitive subject and people got misunderstood.

What if I post my thoughts on a sensitive subject and express them calmly and am open to discussion with no personal attacks but people just hate the subject of my post or at least hate my view on it and say they are offended without me attacking anyone just because they don't agree with my views?

Really, my primary concern is personal attacks. Make one anywhere in a public space against another opponaut which is linked to Oppo or brought back to Oppo ( From wherever. Twitter, public facebook post, reddit, I don't care) and we'll have words.

Oh... That's definitely a delicate question. Pretty much all of the candidates in the upcoming Brazilian elections have made gender identity one of the center points in their campaigns, and you can imagine just how quickly it went south. I have a very open opinion abut the whole matter, as in, I can respect other people's life choices and I do stand up against discrimination, but I prefer to abstract the matter altogether if it doesn't come up. I think I can get along just fine with most people, or at least I hope I haven't offended anyone lately :p

I share the same mindset as you. Levi Fidelix's latest remarks have really relit that debate. I'm all for equal rights and same-sex marriage and pro-choice, but there is always a chance that I'm misunderstood or that my lack of knowledge on certain subjects might lead to some unpleasant discussion, so yeah, as long as my opinion isn't needed, I'll keep it to myself. I really hope I haven't offended anyone as well!

Oh wait, you're Brazilian as well, right? Then I don't have to tell you how bad things have become, hahaha.... But yeah, you pretty much nailed it. To put it in simple terms, all my friends are friends before they are black/white/homosexual/heterosexual/man/woman/whatever, and I can respect and support them as such, without making an ass of myself by entering a heated discussion about matter I don't completely understand.
